Being the representative of Sophie Legazpi and as well as Sophie Southern Luzon, for me, it is all about having enough confidence and believing in my potentials and special skills. But as I came to realize, it taught me to see myself as the great culmination of all pervasive creative intelligence and expressing myself in many beautiful forms. I want to thank Sophie for their great efforts in making me understand that in order to become an empowered woman, I have to know my worth, claim my power and define beauty on my own terms and I hope that Sophie could continuously change the life of others the way that it has changed mine.

                                                               Ms. Sophie South Luzon

Being able to represent Sophie Paris Southern Luzon for the regional search and compete with the other contingents from different regions is a brilliant experience, and a terrifying ordeal, depending on how I see myself as a person. But because of my achievements with Sophie recently, I realized that I can be successful and it eventually fueled my self esteem and now my life is running according to my plans. With the help and support of Almighty God, my friends and loved ones and the whole Sophie Paris Legazpi and Sophie Paris Southern Luzon family, that serves as my strength and courage.

Ang Babae sa Septic Tank

Synopsis: Ang Babae sa Septic Tank chronicles a day in the life of three ambitious, passionate but misguided filmmakers as they set out to do a quick pre-prod at Starbucks, a courtesy call to their lead actress, Eugene Domingo, and an ocular inspection of their film’s major location, the Payatas dumpsite. Director Rainier, Producer Bingbong and Production Assistant Jocelyn are well-to-do, well-educated film school graduates who are dead set on making an Oscar worthy film. They believe they have a winning script, the energy and the drive to make their dreams come true. Like most filmmakers they know, they have devised a screenplay that will show the real essence of our culture: poverty. In the course of one day, they brainstorm and exhaust all possible treatment of their project: the story of Mila (Eugene Domingo), a mother from the slums, who out of desperation to survive, has sold her child to a pedophile. As they discuss the possible executions of the story, the movie-within-a-movie gets reborn in Jocelyn’s imagination several times. As a gritty no frills neo-realist film, as a glossy musical, as an over-the-top melodrama and as a docu drama using non-actors. For their last task of the day, they visit the dumpsite for the first time. As filmmakers gunning for authenticity, they get excited with the ”beauty” of the squalor around them. Soon enough, they are faced with reality as they come face to face with the real effects of their chosen subject. Babae sa Septic Tank is a comedy about misguided ambitions, the art of making art and the romanticization of poverty.

Ikaw Ang Pag-ibig

The movie revolves around a young, contemporary, rebellious woman Vangie Cruz (Ina Feleo), whose family life and career as a video editor are disrupted when her only brother, a newly ordained priest, Fr. Johnny (Marvin Agustin), is diagnosed of Acute Myeloid Leukemia. As a sibling, Vangie is called upon to be a donor for Fr. Johnny's bone marrow transplant. At first, Vangie is very reluctant. She has a clinical phobia for medical procedures, the reasons for which are rooted in an attempted, but botched, abortion which she suffered through many years earlier and has since been troubled about. Her life is saved by Dr. Joey Lucas (Jomari Yllana) with whom she has a love child, and whom she eventually marries. Vangie's dysfunctional family gravitates around Fr. Johnny, and in their struggle to cope with his illness, find themselves drawn to Ina, begging for her intercession. Their prayers are answered, not so much by way of a miraculous cure for Fr. Johnny, but by the grace of conversion, of love, of forgiveness, reconciliation, and hope.
